coporate income tax rate by country_DataExplained

Corporate tax is essentially an income tax for businesses.

Just as regular people must give a portion of their job earnings to the government, companies must give a portion of their profits to the government.

According to the latest data from the Tax Foundation, Comoros has the world’s highest corporate tax rate at 50%, followed by Puerto Rico at 37.5%.

At the lower end, Turkmenistan charges 8%, while Hungary and the UAE both charge 9%.

The highest-rate group is geographically diverse, with six African countries and five South American countries appearing among the 20 jurisdictions with the highest corporate tax rates.

Europe, however, appears at both extremes of the ranking. It accounts for 10 of the 20 lowest-rate positions while also placing four countries France, Germany, Malta, and Portugal among the 20 highest.
