According to the San Francisco-based AI company, many of Claude AI’s users are in the U.S.
Today’s visualization shows the top 20 countries based on global usage of Claude.ai.
Insights for this analysis are drawn from Anthropic’s Economic Index, published in September 2025.

This table indicates that Claude AI’s global usage is far from evenly distributed.
The U.S. dominates with 21.6% of all activity (more than triple India’s 7.2%), even though India has a much larger population.
Countries like Brazil, Japan, and South Korea each hold 3.7%, showing that both emerging and advanced economies make the top ranks, but for very different reasons.
It’s Not About the Population
The data also shows that population doesn’t guarantee high adoption.
India and Indonesia generate large volumes, but smaller, highly developed countries, such as Israel (1.1%) and South Korea (3.7%), consistently punch above their weight.
Europe remains competitive, with the U.K. (3.2%), Germany (2.6%), and France (2.2%) performing well due to their knowledge-intensive economies.
East Asia is another central hub, with Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam all landing in the top 20.
Only Brazil represents Latin America. No African country appears in the top 20 at all.

Note: Antropic has published newer reports on global Claude.ai usage, particularly for January 2026 (November 2025 data) and March 2026 (February 2026 data). Still, the usage share of these top countries has held steady.
